Art Cabrera, Horizon Mechanical, has been wiring brownstone Brooklyn for 27 years with hundreds of satisfied customers. No job too big or too small, from one outlet to whole buildings.

I own a three-story brownstone in Park Slope. Art has done many jobs here, from extra outlets to redoing an entire floor. His work was always neat and meticulous. I was particularly impressed when he tagged the lines of an intricate installation so future workmen would know how it was set up.

I've had Artie Cabrera and Horizon work at my home on many occasions over the past decade. Artie has always done an extremely professional job. He has always thoroughly cleaned up the work site and left my house in great shape. Artie is an excellent-problem solver, very reliable and has very reasonable rates. He treats everyone -- clients and assistants -- with respect. We will definitely continue hiring Artie when we need help with our home's electric system.

I have had Art do work for us twice. Once was a number of years ago, and most recently last week. He is thorough and reasonable. He explained what needed to be done and came up with the most efficient and reasonable way to do it. He is knowledgeable and careful. I would recommend him to others.

I have used Art of Horizon Mechanical for electrical work in my own home and also referred several nonprofit organizations I'm involved with to him when they needed urgent help. He's also done work for my co-op in Park Slope. Dependable, responsible, and knowledgeable, I think Art has seen and dealt with every kind of electrical problem. I certainly recommend him highly.

I called this company early this morning about a problem in the apartment, and they were able to come within a couple of hours. He checked the problem thoroughly, and moved a heavy washer/dryer to get to the fuse box. He went to the store to get the unusual part we needed, and was informative about the problem we had. Service was very good and professional. I would certainly call them again.

We have used Horizon Mechanical for varied electrical work: in our large Park Slope apartment, our small empty nest Park Slope apartment, our six-family Kensington building, and our small upstate horse farm. From major renovation to annual maintenance or replacement work, we recommend Art's work for timeliness, neatness and price.

Artie and I arranged a day and time to come figure out why the cooker and extractor fan were cut. I asked how much the call out charge and cost would be. He showed up - a little late (but that was to do with the local parking situation) was polite, quick and efficient. He diagnosed and explained the issue. It was exactly how much he had said up front which was reasonable (compared to another electrician I had called out). I asked a quote on other things (changing sockets, hooking up lighting in the lounge, putting in additional switches) and on each he either gave a breakdown of more than reasonable prices or offered inexpensive solutions from elsewhere. I highly recommend this company and Artie.

I hired Artie in October to install track-lighting in my kitchen. When he arrived and took at look around, he explained to me that he would have to run an extra cable up from the basement, because the existing circuits in the kitchen were already at capacity due to the dishwasher and refrigerator, in addition to all the other outlets. He communicated this to me clearly so that I could understand why it was necessary, and he ended up giving me a very reasonable price for the extra work! Very knowledgeable professional and super friendly, I highly recommend Horizon to anyone in need of residential electric work!
